Hiking

schliko-wandern.jpgThe Schliffkopf Nature Reserve is located at the heart of the central and northern part of the Black Forest Region. It is at a height of 1,025m and commands panoramic views over the Vosges mountain range and the Swabian Jura. You might want to climb to the top of the Schliffkopf or even try the Hornisgrinde, the highest point in the northern Black Forest, from whose peak you can enjoy a view of the Rhine Valley and on a clear day, the Alps. The Schliffkopf area offers a number of highlights from relaxing walks to full-on hiking tours with wildlife watching and rest breaks in welcoming cabins. The hiking trail from Pforzheim to Basel in Switzerland passes our hotel.
We offer 1-2 guided walks a week as part of our Active Programme

Snow Walking
winteransichtShort Break for the Soul
If you have ever experienced the wonder of a snow-covered landscape away from the ski slopes, you will know that there is a lot more to snow walking than treading across a cold, snow-laden field. Thoughts about everyday life recede, leaving you with a peaceful and contented feeling.
The untouched landscape once used by hunters and trappers in the winter months is now available to non-skiers. Snow walking has gained in popularity in recent years and has been developing increasingly as a sport in our region. Snow walking is an ideal way for you to recharge your batteries out in the open air and the use of walking sticks makes for comfortable and dynamic training, whether it’s a relaxing walk or a more intensive hike that you’re after.

Apprpropriate footwear is available for hire at the Schliffkopf Wellness & Nature Resort. (This offer depends on the season).
